The Story Behind Rangga Trails

Rangga Mamengko

Rangga 'Angga' Mamengko

Founder / Guide / Photographer

My name is Rangga Mamengko, but most people call me Angga.

I grew up following my father — one of North Sulawesi’s senior tour guides and a professional photographer — long before I ever thought of becoming a guide myself. From him, I learned how to read landscapes, respect local communities, and move slowly in nature.

Through my father, I was introduced to Nurlin Djuni, or as I call him, Om Nurlin — the founder of Malia Tours Indonesia. Under his guidance, I learned the foundations of birding, expedition planning, and ethical guiding. Both my father and Om Nurlin encouraged me to eventually organize trips under my own name.

Rangga Trails Indonesia is the result of that encouragement — and of my love for birds, mountains, travel, and photography.
